Mobile App Privacy Policy


Catch A Shift respects your privacy and is committed to protecting it through our compliance with this privacy policy ("Policy"). This Policy describes:

  • The types of information we may collect or that you may provide when you download, access, interact with, or use the Catch A Shift mobile application, all Catch A Shift operated and controlled websites and mobile software applications, including the Catch A Shift employer dashboard, and all other online services controlled or provided by Catch A Shift (collectively, the "Services"); and
  • Our practices for collecting, using, maintaining, protecting and disclosing that information.
  • This policy applies to information we collect through the Services and in email, text and other electronic communications sent through or in connection with the Services from job applicants ("Applicants") and employers ("Employers") using the Services. "You" and "your" as used in this policy applies to both Applicants and Employers, as applicable.

    This policy DOES NOT apply to information that:

  • We collect offline or on any other Catch A Shift apps or websites, including websites you may access through links provided in the Services.
  • You provide to or is collected by any third party (see Third Party Information Collection below).

    This Privacy Policy constitutes a binding legal agreement between you, as an Applicant or Employer who uses and interacts with the Services, and Catch A Shift. Before accessing, using, or interacting with the Services you should carefully review the terms and conditions of this Privacy Policy, as well as the Catch A Shift Terms of Service,, as applicable, which are incorporated into your agreement with Catch A Shift by this reference.

    By using or interacting with any of our Services, you expressly consent to this Privacy Policy and our Terms of Service, and the collection, transfer, storage, disclosure, and use of your information described. IF YOU DO NOT AGREE TO THE FULL TERMS OF OUR PRIVACY POLICY AND TERMS OF SERVICE, THEN YOU ARE NOT AUTHORIZED TO ACCESS, USE OR INTERACT WITH THE SERVICES.

    The Services are not intended for children under 13 years of age, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn we have collected or received personal information from a child under 13 without verification of parental consent, we will delete that information.     Information We Collect and How We Collect It

    We collect information from and about users of our Services

  • Directly from you when you provide it to us or you make it available while using the Services.
  • Automatically when you use the Services.
  • Information You Provide to Us

    When you download, register with, or use the Services, we may ask you (or give you the option) to provide information

  • By which you may be personally identified, such as your name, photo, email address, physical address and phone number ("personal information").
  • That is about you but individually does not identify you.
  • This information includes:

  • Registration information, including (for an Applicant) at least an email address and password, and (for an Employer) at least the name of the Employer's company, the name of the Employer, email address, password, and job category.
  • Information provided in creating an Applicant profile or an Employer job description.
  • Records and copies of your correspondence (including email addresses and phone numbers), if you contact us.
  • Details of transactions you carry out through the Services, such as applying to an Employer or accepting an Applicant.
  • Chat messages between Applicants and Employers.
  • Any information you choose to publish or display using the Services, including chat messages you send using the Services (your "Content"), is posted and transmitted to others at your own risk.

    Although we take reasonable measures to keep your Content secure, and we may provide you with privacy options with regard to your Content, please be aware that no security measures are perfect or impenetrable. Furthermore, we cannot control the actions of third parties (including Applicants and Employers) with whom you may choose to communicate. Therefore, we cannot and do not guarantee that your Content will not be viewed by unauthorized persons.

    Automatic Information Collection and Tracking

    When you download, access, and use the Services, it may use technology to automatically collect:

  • Usage Details. When you access and use the Services, we may automatically collect certain details of your access to and use of the Services.
  • Device Information. We may collect information about your mobile device and internet connection, including the device's unique device identifier, operating system, browser type, mobile network information and the device's telephone number.
  • Stored Information and Files. The Services also may access metadata and other information associated with other files stored on your device. This may include, for example, photographs, audio and video clips, personal contacts and address book information.
  • Location Information. The Services may collect real-time information about the location of your device.
  • If you do not want us to collect this information, do not use or download the Services, and delete the Catch A Shift mobile application from your device.

    We also may use these technologies to collect information about your activities over time and across third-party websites, apps or other online services (behavioral tracking). We do not respond to browser signals and other mechanisms that enable consumers to exercise choice about behavioral tracking.

    Information Collection and Tracking Technologies

    The technologies we use for automatic information collection may include:

  • Cookies (or mobile cookies). A cookie is a small file placed on your mobile device. It may be possible to refuse to accept mobile cookies by activating the appropriate setting on your mobile device. However, if you select this setting, you may be unable to access certain parts of the Services.
  • Web Beacons. The Services may contain small electronic files known as web beacons (also referred to as clear gifs, pixel tags, and single-pixel gifs) that permit Catch A Shift to collect statistics (for example, recording the popularity of certain mobile application content and verifying system and server integrity).
  • Google Analytics. We may use third-party services such as Google Analytics that collect, monitor and analyze information such as Internet Protocol ("IP") address, browser type, browser version, the pages visited, the time and date of use, the time spent on pages and other statistics in order to increase the Services' functionality. Google has its own privacy policies addressing how they use such information.
  • Unique Identifiers. When you use or access the Services, we may access, collect, monitor, store on your device, and/or remotely store one or more "Unique Identifiers," such as a universally unique identifier ("UUID"). A Unique Identifier may remain on your device persistently, to help you log in faster and enhance your navigation through the Services. Some features of the Services may not function properly if use or availability of Unique Identifiers is impaired or disabled.
  • Log File Information. When you use our Services, we may receive log file information such as your IP address, browser type, access times, domain names operating system, the referring web page(s), pages visited, location, your mobile carrier, device information (including device and application IDs), search terms, and cookie information. We receive log file data when you interact with our Services, for example, when you visit our websites, sign into our Services, or interact with our email notifications.
  • Third-Party Information Collection

    We may also use certain automatic information collection technologies of third parties to collect information about you or your device. These third parties may include:

  • Advertisers, ad networks and ad servers.
  • Analytics companies, for our internal analytical purposes, in order to improve our services and develop new products and services.
  • These third parties may use tracking technologies to collect information about you when you use the Services. The information they collect may be associated with your personal information or they may collect information, including personal information, about your online activities over time and across different websites, apps, and other online services websites. They or we may use this information to provide you with interest-based (behavioral) advertising or other targeted content.

    We do not control these third parties' tracking technologies or how they may be used. If you have any questions about an advertisement or other targeted content, you should contact the responsible provider directly.

    How We Use Your Information

    We use information that we collect about you or that you provide to us, including any personal information, to:

  • Provide you with the Services and its features and content, and any other information, products or services that you request from us.
  • Fulfill any other purpose for which you provide it.
  • Carry out our obligations and enforce our rights arising from any contracts entered into between you and us.
  • Notify you when updates to the Services are available, and of changes to any products or services we offer or provide through it.
  • The usage information we collect helps us to improve our Services and to deliver a better and more personalized experience by enabling us to:

  • Estimate our audience size and usage patterns.
  • Store information about your preferences, allowing us to customize the Services according to your individual interests.

  • We use the location information we collect exclusively to enable Applicants and Employers to more easily determine whether a job opportunity is geographically suitable for both parties.

    We will ask for your consent before using information for a purpose other than those that are set out in this Privacy Policy.

    Disclosure of Your Information

    We may disclose aggregated information about our users, and information that does not identify any individual or device, without restriction. In addition, we may disclose personal information that we collect or you provide:

  • To contractors, service providers and other third parties we use to support our business and who are bound by contractual obligations to keep personal information confidential and use it only for the purposes for which we disclose it to them (collectively "Service Providers").
  • To a buyer or other successor in the event of a merger, divestiture, restructuring, reorganization, dissolution or other sale or transfer of some or all of Catch A Shift's assets, whether as a going concern or as part of bankruptcy, liquidation or similar proceeding, in which personal information held by Catch A Shift about users of the Services is among the assets transferred.

    We strive to provide you with choices regarding the personal information you provide to us. This section describes mechanisms we provide for you to control certain uses and disclosures of your information.

  • Tracking Technologies. You can set your mobile device or browser to refuse all or some browser cookies, or to alert you when cookies are being sent. If you disable or refuse cookies or block the use of other tracking technologies, some parts of the Services may then be inaccessible or not function properly. Catch A Shift does not currently employ a process for automatically responding to "Do Not Track" (DNT) signals sent by web browsers, mobile devices, or other mechanisms. Per industry standards, third parties may be able to collect information, including personal information, about your online activities over time and across different websites or online services when you use Services.   • Location Information. You can choose whether or not to allow the Services to collect and use real-time information about your device's location through your device's privacy settings, or by withholding your consent to our collection of location data. However, if you disable location tracking, some of the Services' features (e.g., allowing Employers and Applicants to connect based on geographic proximity) may not be available to you.
  • Promotions by Catch A Shift. If you do not want us to use your contact information to promote our own or third parties' products or services, you can opt-out by clicking the "unsubscribe" link in an email communication, or by contacting us at

    We have implemented measures designed to secure your personal information from accidental loss and from unauthorized access, use, alteration and disclosure. All information you provide to us is stored on our secure servers behind industry-standard firewalls.

    Unfortunately, the transmission of information via mobile platforms is not completely secure. Although we do our best to protect your personal information, we cannot guarantee the security of your personal information transmitted through our Services. Any transmission of personal information is at your own risk. We are not responsible for circumvention of any privacy settings or security measures we provide. Accordingly, any information you transfer to or from Services is provided at your own risk.

    Data Retention

    We may retain your personal information for as long as you use the Services and for a reasonable time thereafter. If you'd like us to delete or modify personal information that you have provided via the Services, please contact us at and we will respond within a reasonable time. Please note that some or all of your personal information may be required for the Services to function properly, and we may be required to retain certain information by law.

    Transfer And Storage of Your Information

    Please note information Catch A Shift collects about you may be transferred, processed and/or accessed by us in the United States, or another country where we, or our Service Providers operate. Please be aware that your personal information may be transferred to, and maintained on, computers located outside of your state or country where privacy laws may differ from and may not be as protective as those where you live. If you are located outside the United States and choose to allow us to collect information about you, please be aware that Catch A Shift may transfer your personal information to the United States and process and store it there. By allowing collection of your personal information, you consent to having your personal data transferred to, processed, and stored in the United States.

    If you are located in the European Economic Area ("EEA") or other regions with laws governing data collection and use that may differ from U.S. law, please note that we may transfer information to a country or jurisdiction that does not have the same data protection laws as your jurisdiction. It may also be processed by staff operating outside the EEA who work for us or for one of Service Providers. By submitting your information, registering for, or using the Services, you consent to the transfer, processing, and storage of your information in the United States, or any other country in which Catch A Shift or our Service Providers maintain facilities, and to the use and disclosure of information about you as described in this Privacy Policy.

    Safely Using the Services

    Despite Catch A Shift's safety and privacy controls, we cannot guarantee the Services are entirely free of illegal, offensive, pornographic, or otherwise inappropriate material, or that you will not encounter inappropriate or illegal conduct from other Users when using the Services.     Your California Privacy Rights

    Under California Civil Code Section 1798.83 (known as the "Shine the Light" law), Catch A Shift customers who are residents of California may request certain information about our disclosure of personal information during the prior calendar year to third parties for their direct marketing purposes. To make such a request, please write to us at the address below or at with "Request for California Privacy Information" on the subject line and in the body of your message. We will comply with your request within thirty (30) days or as otherwise required by the statute. Please be aware that not all information sharing is covered by the "Shine the Light" requirements and only information on covered sharing will be included in our response.

    We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes to how we treat our users' personal information, we will notify you via email if we have your email address and will post the new Privacy Policy here with a notice that the privacy policy has been updated.
